State Level Advocacy Workshop for the Food Inspectors of FDA

Venue: FDA Conference Hall.

Objective of the Workshop:

• To get the inspectors from FDA under a single roof, and sensitise them keeping in mind their implementation roles, so that they can act as    a conduit for channelising and implementing the law in their jurisdiction.

• Brainstorming and identifying the obstacles in implementation of law and their possible solutions

Post workshop discussion:

• The Joint Commissioner (Food) has agreed to work for having the State level meeting and would support our efforts.

• Healis has asked their support to prepare an agenda for the meeting, and they have agreed to extend their whole hearted support.

Way forward:

1. Try for the state level meeting: get date and prepare an agenda jointly with FDA and BMC and try and involve the police also.

2. Try and work with the JC (Law) is order to get the law departments support and advice for the FDA’s role in Tobacco Control.
